Tradition and Technology Meet in Bahrain

The saying "like father like son" certainly applies to renowned artist Abdulla Al-Muharraqi  and his son Khalid Al-Muharraqi,  two talented artists whose  work will be honored in an art exhibit in Bahrain in March 2014.

A well-respected LightWave 3D artist , Khalid Al-Muharraqi has  been showcasing his digital art skills in personal projects and for clients of Muharraqi Studios for many years. Khalid will host “Muharraqi: Father & Son” an exhibition that will features many  pieces never before seen works of arts, including an artistic masterpiece  father and son created using  a mix of traditional and digital art.

Abdulla Al-Muharraqi has been renowned in the art world for years, and has grown to be admired as much as Salvador Dali and H.R Giger for his use of extremely emotive and symbolic imagery in his pieces. His works are a mix of political statement and portraiture, created in oils, acrylics and guache over a long, celebrated career.

"All that I have been able to achieve during my career was possible through the tools LightWave has made available to me," said Khalid Al-Muharraqi,. "LightWave has not only helped me in the process of producing my work but has also expanded the boundaries of my creativity in ways that would have not been possible otherwise."

This exclusive exhibition is open to the public and will take place on the 4th of March 2014. It will be staged in the Shaikh Ebrahim Center for Culture and Research, in Muharraq under the patronage of His Royal Highness, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al-Khalifa. The center is the Kingdom’s leading cultural showcase of culture, art, academia, and the intellectual legacies of hundreds of speakers, artists, philosophers, poets, and thinkers. The exhibition will mark the inauguration of the center’s Cultural Season of 2014 and will coincide with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Spring of Culture Festival.
