The Duracell Bunny Biography

London-based 3D Studio We are Formation impressed us once again with this great example of 3D animated characters created for the famous American battery manufacturer Duracell. Creative partner and 3D artist of We Are Formation, Louis du Mont granted us a few minutes to explain the importance of LightWave 3D in their production pipeline. Go behind the scenes and see how LightWave 3D enabled him to create this incredible project.

Louis Du Mont:  We were contacted through the Movidiam platform to produce a set of five 3D character animated interviews of various toys that know the Duracell Bunny. The animations were then to be cut into a video biography featured on Duracell's website and media channels. 

Time was tight, with a turn-around of a few weeks we set about sourcing any stock photography and models that could save time, while modelling everything else. All the assets were brought into Lightwave 3D for re-meshing, surfacing, rigging and then animation and render.

We heavily relied on VPR for achieving the right took all within Lightwave 3D, including motion blur and depth of field to limit compositing time,
also making use of the After Effects interchange tools to transfer cameras and integrate background plates.
