Artist Spotlight: Jason Allen Lee
Making art of advertising, artist Jason Allen Lee uses LightWave to create incredibly lifelike advertisements and product videos for Sullivan Branding. One of Lee's most compelling campaigns to date is for Rocky Elements work boots, where his attention to design, detail and texturing really creates a realistic end result. One look at his images and product videos and it's pretty clear why we chose Jason Allen Lee as our artist of the month.
"Space Shuttle Atlantis" Wins 2014 VES Award
Experiencing the Kennedy Space Center's "Space Shuttle Atlantis" exhibit for the first time can be captivating, but add to it an immersive experience filled with computer graphics and animation, and you're heading toward mind-blowing realism. The creation of the "Space Shuttle Atlantis" recently won the award for "Outstanding Visual Effects in a Special Venue Project" at the 2014 Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards. LightWave 3D played a key role in the massive production pipeline of the Atlantis project; it was used for 3D modeling, animation and rendering.
An Eye for an Eye
Artist Chris Jones is well known for his independent animated short "The Passenger," but now he has set his sights on replicating human anatomy in CG. Have a look at his latest works in progress (WIPs) and see how he uses LightWave to create some incredibly realistic animations—his latest has over a million views. Now that's a lot of eyeballs on this stunning WIP!
Tradition and Technology Meet in Bahrain
The saying "like father, like son" certainly applies to Abdulla Al-Muharraqi and his son Khalid Al-Muharraqi, two artists whose work will be honored in an art exhibit in Bahrain on March 4, 2014 with His Royal Highness, the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain opening the exhibition. A highly skilled LightWave 3D Artist in his own right, Khalid Al-Muharraqi will host the "Muharraqi: Father & Son" exhibition, which will also showcase several new pieces, including an artistic masterpiece created by father and son using a mix of traditional and digital art techniques.
