Project Spotlight: Westside

This month we shine the spotlight on a pretty awesome project: LightWave 3D Artists and Directors of the ESAA Aquitaine, an Applied Arts school near Bordeaux – France, Olivier and Laurent Giboulot share with us an interesting 3D project recently made for Westside, a French company that offers a selection of products from the cycle to urban skating. Using the power of LightWave 3D, they create a realtime application that let’s you build and custom from scratch your bicycle. Recreating a Masterpiece with LightWave 3D

Farkas Ekho Zsolt is no stranger to challenges: in 2014, he has been recreating Benczur Gyula's 2D painting of the 19th century masterpiece "Budavar Repossession" in LightWave 3D. Recently, he took on a much bigger challenge! For the 450th anniversary of the siege of Szigetvar, he decided to recreate in 3D Johann Peter Krafft's 2D painting of the 1566 Siege of Szigetvar, a key event of the Ottoman-Habsburg wars. See the shot breakdown and discover how Farkas recreated his own version of this masterpiece in LightWave 3D.

The extremely talented and well-known 3D LightWave 3D artist—Oscar Anchondo—shows once again his talent. He recently shared with the LightWave Community a new architectural scene for free. Gundam Tribute Video

Expressing his creativity through this personal project, the Italian LightWave 3D artist Antonio Vallorani released this month an amazing Gundam tribute video. From modeling to animation, Vallorani used LightWave 3D, 3D-Coat and Octane Render to deliver his own vision. The project-a 50-minutes movie-will be split into two parts: the first one (a 15 minutes' prologue) and the second one (35 minutes), will narrate the real history. If you love Gundam that's something you shouldn't miss!

“Air Jaws” by Inhance Digital

Artists at Inhance Digital deliver some of the most innovative, interactive and visually compelling visual effects, animation and compositing projects for everything from aerospace and healthcare to broadcast, feature films and games. Having a little spare time during this summer, the 3D Members of Inhance's VFX Team created this unusual piece using LightWave 3D.
